How to Make Scallop Ceviche! Travel Inspired Recipes

Inspired by our honeymoon in Peru and a recent trip to Seattle filled with incredible food experiences we headed to the Union Square Farmer's Market in New York City on a mission to create our own. With fresh Scallops, fresh herbs, fresh fruits and fresh vegetables at the we decided to try making Scallop Ceviche. We enjoyed a lot of ceviche while on our honeymoon in Peru, but this would be our first attempt at making it ourselves. After researching a couple of recipes online and modifying for the tastes and ingredients we wanted from the market we ended up with an incredibly fresh homemade Scallop Ceviche!

Gather The Ingredients
  • Scallops (4)
  • Baby Heirloom or Cherry Tomatoes (5-6)
  • Onion (1)
  • Chopped Garlic (2 cloves)
  • Fresh Dill (1 tbsp)
  • Shishito Pepper (2)
  • Lime (2)
  • Celery Seed (1/2 tsp)
  • Ancho Chili Pepper (1/2 tsp)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Black Pepper (to taste)

Prepare The Limes And Dill
Slice the Limes in half to juice and chop up about tablespoon of Dill

Juice The Limes
into a bowl
Juicing Limes, Scallop Ceviche
Add Dill And Chopped Garlic
into the bowl
Add Dill and Garlic to Lime Juice, Scallop Ceviche
Cut Up The Scallops
Cut the Scallops into 1/2 inch cubes
Whole Scallops, Scallop Ceviche
Cubed Scallops, Scallop Ceviche
Cut Up The Onions, Tomatoes, and Shishito Peppers
Cut the Onions into slices, cube the Tomatoes, and cut the Shishito Peppers across the pepper.
Making Scallop Ceviche
Combine Everything
In a bowl combine the Scallops, Lime juice with Dill and Garlic, Onions, Tomatoes, Shishito Peppers, Salt, Black Pepper, Celery Seed, and Ancho Chili Powder. Let sit in the fridge or cool space for 20 minutes.
